Today’s featured artist is the band Bully – which is actually the solo project of Nashville guitarist and singer Alicia Bognanno.
Touching on her diagnosis with bipolar II disorder, Bongnanno’s lyrics are truthful and raw coupled with a tremendous fuzz of guitars and thrashing of drums. There is a great confidence and swagger she brings to each song.
You hear the influences from Veruca Salt, L7, Hole and many others who paved the way. I hope that the 29-year old Bognanno continues putting out great music because frankly, we need truthful, loud music.
