New Music Friday - 1/31/2025

It’s New Music Friday (on Saturday) and I’m featuring a local band this week. Thanks to my friend Carrie for introducing me to The Frizz and their new song “Time in Motion”.

What happens when four 16-year olds from Montgomery County meet up at a School of Rock? They produce some pretty sweet music. The new single “Time in Motion” from The Frizz comes shortly after their 2024 5-song EP (which you should also check out). “Time in Motion” is giving me some Sonic Youth vibes. There’s great atmospheric guitar work and the rhythm section does more than just keep the time, it’s the driving force behind the track. The lead singer commands the room and space with her melodic yet piercing vocals. Be sure to follow them and check out when their gigs are, they’re a band that’s making noise and you don’t want to miss out.
