New Music Friday (7/31/2020)

Who's ready for some new music? Let's get to it! Check out new music from the following artists:

· Brandy – It’s been eight years since her last album. With guest appearances by Chance the Rapper and Brandy’s teenage daughter, Sy’rai Smith, the songs touch on love, heartbreak and growth;

· Alanis Morissette – Guess who else released an album eight years ago? Morissette is back with an album about finding yourself and personal shifts, filled with themes that have been woven throughout Morissette’s work over the years;

· The Psychedelic Furs – Did we enter the wayback machine? It’s been 29 years since the Furs last studio album! The band returns with their classic sound of chaos and beauty;

· Charley Crockett - an American blues, country and Americana singer, guitarist, and songwriter whose country-western songs take place in the present with an overlay of the past;

· Charles Tolliver – 78 year old trumpeter and composer, Tolliver’s latest is a blast that is one of the best jazz records in the past number of years.

Today's featured artist is a band from Ireland, Fontaines D.C.

Named after The Godfather character Johnny Fontaine (the D.C. is for Dublin City), the band burst onto the scene in 2017 and hasn't slowed down.

The band's second post-punk album is funny and fearless with shades of The Fall and Gang of Four shining through. Check out the first single, "A Hero's Death"
