Welcome to the New Year Mixtape

Ring out, wild bells, to the wild sky,

The flying cloud, the frosty light:

The year is dying in the night;

Ring out, wild bells, and let him die.

Ring out the old, ring in the new,

Ring, happy bells, across the snow:

The year is going, let him go;

Ring out the false, ring in the true.

- Tennyson

Maybe it’s cliche to hope for a fresh start in the new year - a time to stop some things while starting others. A time to reflect on the previous year and a time to plan for the upcoming year.

For me, a new year means new hope and new opportunities and of course, new music. And some new looks for the blog. Thanks to my friend, Matt Barnett, for some of the new creative you'll see throughout the blog.

But we all need a New Year Mixtape, right? Songs that inspire us, that get our blood flowing and that signify a fresh start, a new day, a new year.

The first Mixtape of 2023 is Welcome to the New Year. Twenty-three songs to hopefully inspire you to start your year off right!

Did I miss any? Do you have a song that signifies a new day for you? Be sure to leave me a comment.
