Happy Pride!

Regardless of your particular taste in music, the beauty of a Pride Month playlist is that I was able to draw from all aspects and genres of music. As Pride Month winds down, it’s time to continue the celebration and commemoration of LGBTQ+ pride with artists, anthems and other songs that I hope will make you feel loved and supported and honored.

Check out my Pride 2023 mixtape.

Highlights include:

“Take Your Mama” by Scissor Sisters - This dance-pop track, off the Scissor Sisters debut album, was inspired by lead singer Jake Shears coming out to his mother, and portray a gay man showing his mother the activities of gay nightlife in order to bond with her following his coming out. It’s a fantastic track of pure pop magic.

“You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)” by Sylvester - A classic from an artist who helped define the disco movement. It’s a song of freedom and desires and you can’t help but want to move your ass when this track comes on.

“To Be Honest” by Christine and the Queens - A gorgeous and immaculate synth-pop power ballad that just glows from the pansexual artist that has released a number of great albums.

“I’m Not For Everyone” by Brothers Osborne - Shortly after T.J. Osborne came out as gay, the brothers released this fantastic track. It’s a song that can serve as an inspirational quote for those who feel they aren’t like everyone else.

There’s plenty more to hear so take some time, dig into the Pride 2023 mixtape and enjoy it. Happy Pride!
